How the PayPal fee estimate works
Estimated PayPal fee = transaction amount × percentage rate + fixed fee + any international surcharge. The calculator then subtracts processing fees, product cost, seller-paid shipping, and advertising from transaction revenue to estimate order profit.
Worked $50 PayPal example
At the editable standard planning rate of 2.99% + $0.49, a $50 domestic payment produces an estimated $1.99 processing fee and $48.01 net payout. With $15 product cost, $5 shipping, and $3 advertising, estimated order profit is $25.01 before tax, refunds, and overhead.
PayPal pricing can vary by product, transaction type, country, currency conversion, and negotiated account terms. Verify the selected rate against the official schedule before using the result for pricing.
